About us

The foundation of Gr8 Hotels lies in a family history full of hospitality. Bas and Bob van den Nieuwenhuijzen and their cousin Martien Heinrichs grew up in the hotels of their grandfather, Gerrit van der Valk. What started out as their playground soon became a place of learning, working and experiencing. The kitchen, the reception, the halls, the hotel was their second home and formed an inexhaustible source of experience.

In 2017, the three cousins decided to turn their shared passion into their own venture. They took over the existing AC Hotels, laying the foundation for Gr8 Hotels, which we pronounce as the English “great”. Their mission: to create contemporary hotels that combine the warmth of family with the convenience of modern travel.

Gr8 Hotels now has five locations in the Netherlands. The hotel rooms are designed for comfort and convenience, ideal for both business guests and leisure travellers. Think a generous 55-inch screen, air conditioning, a large walk-in shower and atmospheric lighting you set yourself. Check-in is quick and easy via self-service, with no queues. A host or hostess is on hand to welcome you. Our Gr8 Hotels are three-star hotels, but offer four-star quality - stylish, comfortable and surprisingly affordable.
